We built a different kind of studio.
Not a traditional production house with AI added to the workflow. A virtual production house built from scratch where AI is the entire workforce. Every specialist role — creative director, casting director, sound designer, mixing engineer, QC engineer, distribution manager — is an AI agent, designed for that role, expert at it, running in parallel around the clock. No building. No scheduling. No overhead. The same broadcast standard. In days.
The origin
We tried to produce an audiobook the traditional way. Got quotes for $15,000. For a children's book that would sell maybe 200 copies in its first year. The math didn't work.
So we started building. The first version was bad — flat voices, wrong pacing, music that fought the dialogue. We built a QC system to catch our own mistakes. Then we built a remediation system to fix them automatically. Then we realized the QC system was the most valuable part of the whole pipeline.
Eighteen months later, we had a virtual production house that could produce a broadcast-quality cinematic audiobook from a raw manuscript in days. Not because we set out to build a platform — but because we kept solving the next problem.
Our approach
We don't cut corners. We automated them. Every audiobook gets distinct character voices, contextual sound effects, original music, and broadcast-standard mastering. The difference is we do it in days, not months.
Our pipeline runs 12 phases end-to-end: AI direction, voice synthesis, post-processing, sound design, reverb, music composition, assembly, mastering, 4-gate quality control, manifest generation, video production, and short-form clip extraction. Each phase has measurable inputs and outputs, logged costs, and automated QC.
AI-native, from the ground up.
We didn't take a traditional production house and add AI to parts of it. We built a virtual production house where every specialist role is an AI agent.
A creative director that reads your manuscript and writes the full cinematic direction — emotion cues, pacing marks, sound annotations per line. A casting director that auditions and assigns voices per character. A sound designer that generates contextual soundscapes precisely placed from the direction script. A composer that scores original music to each scene's emotional arc. A mixing engineer. A mastering engineer. A QC agent that doesn't just flag failures — it diagnoses root cause, prescribes the fix, and dispatches it to the relevant specialist automatically.
Sixteen roles. Twelve phases. Zero studio overhead. That's not a cost story. That's a different kind of studio.
The specialists.
Every role that a traditional studio staffs with a human is staffed here by an AI agent — designed for that role, expert at it, running around the clock.
Creative Director
Reads your manuscript, writes the cinematic direction script. Makes every interpretive decision: where to build tension, where to breathe, where to place the silence.
Casting Director
Auditions voices for every character, assigns by personality and vocal range, maintains consistency across every chapter of a series.
Sound Designer
Reads the direction script and generates contextual sound from it. Not library sounds selected from a menu — sounds generated to match the specific scene.
Composer
Scores original music per chapter, timed to scene mood and emotional arc. Sidechain ducking so music always yields to the voice.
Mixing Engineer
Assembles voice, SFX, reverb, and music into a cohesive stereo mix with crossfades and precise timing.
Mastering Engineer
Two-pass broadcast mastering to –18 LUFS. Platform-specific outputs: podcast, audiobook, YouTube.
QC Agent
Four gates. Self-healing remediation loop. 100% pass rate. Not because failures don’t happen — because the house fixes them before you see them.
Distribution Agent
Packages and submits to every platform simultaneously: Audible, Apple Books, Spotify, YouTube, Hoopla, OverDrive, Libby, Yoto, podcast RSS.
Every title is a catalog asset.
We don't think of production as a cost. We think of it as asset creation. Every title produced is a catalog asset that earns across platforms for years. Production cost is fixed. The revenue window is indefinite.
That's why we built the virtual production house — to make the economics of catalog building work at any scale.
